Woman Found Face-down in the Road After Multi-Car Crash is Pronounced Dead
Police are investigating a car crash on Blackstone River Road in Worcester on Wednesday that killed one driver.

WORCESTER, MA—Worcester police are trying to figure out what caused a crash that killed one woman on Wednesday afternoon.
On July 13, at 12:31 p.m., Worcester police were dispatched to 54 Blackstone River Road for a report of an accident involving multiple vehicles. One of the occupants had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
Officers found a green Ford Expedition, a blue Jaguar and a red Pontiac in the middle of the street at the intersection of Blackstone River Road and Whipple streets. A 48-year old woman was lying face down in the road when police arrived. A short distance away sat a Blue Chevy Cruze that was also involved in the accident. The victim was given first aid, and was transported by EMS to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Worcester Police Crime Scene Unit along with Crash Reconstruction responded to the scene. The investigation is still active, but initial reports suggest the blue Jaguar was being operated by the victim traveling down Whipple Street toward Blackstone River Road. The vehicle was traveling down Whipple Street at a high rate of speed, and sounding its horn as it traveled.
The Jaguar headed from Whipple Street onto Blackstone River Road, where it collided with the three other vehicles. The victim was ejected from the Jaguar through the front windshield during the collision, police said.
