WooSox Swing Into 2026 Season With 3-Game Series At Polar Park

The Triple-A team secured their first win of the season on Saturday.

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Red Sox have officially kicked off their 2026 season.

It all kicked off with a three-game series against the Syracuse Mets over the weekend. WooSox lost two of three games and secured their first win of the season on Saturday. The final score was 5-to-3.

One highlight of the opening weekend also included the first homer of the season by Mikey Romero.

The starting lineups over the three games included players: Nick Sogard, Kristian Campbell, Mickey Gasper, Nate Eaton, Mikey Romero, Allan Castro, Tsung-Che Cheng, Matt Thaiss, Braiden Ward, Jake Bennett, Matt Lloyd, Vinny Capra, Jason Delay, Tyler Uberstine and Payton Tolle.

On Friday, the WooSox also celebrated Opening Day with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Polar Park's newly renovated Hanover Deck, which now features a canopy, heaters, televisions, and drink rails.

The Woo Sox are back on Tuesday for a six-game series against the St. Paul Saints in St. Paul, Minnesota.
