WORCESTER, MA — The city was abuzz with hockey over the weekend, as the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Worcester Regional took place at the DCU Center.
The excitement all began with the first round on Thursday, when Michigan State University went head-to-head with the University of Connecticut, and Dartmouth College and the University of Wisconsin did the same.
The four-team challenge was held in Worcester and hosted by the College of the Holy Cross. This year marked the 17th time the NCAA men's hockey regionals have been hosted in the city, with Holy Cross hosting the event, according to the Telegram & Gazette.

Semifinal Results
During Thursday's semifinal, Michigan State (No. 1 seed) beat UConn (No. 4 seed) with a score of 2-to-1, and just a few hours later, Wisconsin (No. 3 seed) beat Dartmouth (No. 2 seed) with a score of 5-to-1.
Final Results
Michigan State and Wisconsin headed to the Worcester Regional Final, a game that went into overtime. The Wisconsin Badgers ended up defeating the Michigan State Spartans with a score of 4-to-3, according to NCAA rankings.

Now the Badgers are headed to the National Semifinal this week. They will face off with No. 2 seed North Dakota, which won the Sioux Falls Regional.
