Worcester Among Best Cities To Celebrate St. Patrick's Day For 2026

The city also ranked high for its number of Irish pubs and restaurants per capita.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester is among the top 10 cities to celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year.

Worcester came in at No. 9 for the best cities to celebrate the holiday, according to a new report from personal finance company WalletHub.

To identify the top places, the report analyzes 200 of the largest cities in the U.S. across 15 metrics, including the number of Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, the lowest available rate for a three-star hotel on St. Patrick's Day, and the forecasted weather.

In some categories, Worcester ranked in the top 100, including 14th for the percentage of the Irish population and 11th for the number of Irish pubs and restaurants per capita.

Boston topped the list as the best city to celebrate the Irish holiday, with Reno, NV (No. 2), Savannah, GA (No. 3), Overland Park, KS (No. 4), and Henderson, NV(No. 5) also scoring in the top five.

Worcester County's St. Patrick's Day parade will take place on Saturday, Mar. 15. The event kicks off at noon, from the corner of Park Avenue and Mill Street and usually runs for about two hours.

The busiest spot to watch the parade is Park Avenue between Chandler and Highland Street, thanks to the bars and restaurants. The least-busy street is Park Avenue between Lovell and Maywood Streets, according to the parade's website.
