WORCESTER, MA — Worcester's beaches, pool and splash pads will open for the 2022 season on July 1, city officials announced on Friday.

Worcester spray parks at East Park, 180 Shrewsbury St., and Greenwood Park, 14 Forsberg St., will remain open daily until 7 p.m. through the Labor Day weekend. City beaches at Bell Pond, Indian Lake and Coes Pond will be open daily through Aug. 22.

Officials warned swimmers to avoid beaches when lifeguards are not on duty. Asked if swimming facilities will be fully staffed with lifeguards this summer, a spokesman for City Manager Eric Batista only said Worcester is "on track to have similar staffing to last summer."
