Worcester Business Center Sold To UMass Memorial Health For $14M

The health system bought the Worcester Business Center on Tuesday and is exploring more administrative space there.

WORCESTER, MA — A large hospital group in Central Massachusetts has purchased the Worcester Business Center.

UMass Memorial Health bought the center for $14 million, the Worcester Business Journal first reported.

The healthcare system confirmed the sale to Patch and said several UMass Memorial administrative employees are already based at the WBC. A spokesperson from UMass Memorial Health said they are currently evaluating opportunities to move additional employees to the center.

The Worcester Business Center at 67 Millbrook St. offers 260,000 square feet of office space on five floors.

The Worcester Business Center was previously developed by Charles “Chip” Norton, who filed for bankruptcy last summer amid five lawsuits accusing him and his businesses of unpaid debts.
