Worcester Cancels School Due To Arctic Temperatures
Worcester followed Boston in canceling classes Friday with temperatures expected to drop below zero.

WORCESTER, MA — Schools in Worcester will be canceled Friday due to the incoming bitterly cold weather, the district announced Thursday afternoon.
"Due to the forecasted extreme cold and windchill tomorrow, Friday, February 3, 2023, there will be no school. Before and after school programs are also canceled. DAB will be open," the district tweeted near 4 p.m. Thursday.
The DAB is the Durkin Administration Building, where top district officials — including the superintendent — are located.

Boston Public Schools also called off classes Thursday afternoon with forecasts predicting dangerously cold wind chills Friday into Saturday.
Friday will start off bitterly cold with temperatures in the mid-teens or lower across most of the state. At 10 a.m., rare wind chill warnings will go into effect across the entire state with winds pushing temperatures down to around -30 in the Worcester area by nightfall, according to forecasts.
