WORCESTER, MA — A cannabis "microbusiness" that wants to open a production facility in Worcester is up for a provisional license approval this week. Boston-based Magic Dragon LLC will go before the Cannabis Control Commission at a meeting in Worcester on Thursday.

Magic Dragon plans to operate its production facility at 61 Fremont St. making hand-rolled cannabis cigars. The facility will not be open to the public, but its products will be sold to stores around the state.

Cannabis cigars, or "cannagars," are among the most high-end cannabis products available. A single cannagar can fetch over $100, according to Leafly.

According to its application, Magic Dragon could be operational within four months of getting a provisional license. The state would still have to approve a final license for the business to begin operations. Owner David Aiello has been working with Worcester officials to get approval, and held an initial public meeting about the facility in October.
