Worcester City Manager Gets Pay Bump In Proposed Contract: Report

City Manager Eric Batista's new contract would put his salary over $300,000, according to a report.

WORCESTER, MA — The City Council will vote on a new, three-year contract for City Manager Eric Batista that will come with a significant pay bump, according to The Worcester Telegram.

The new contract would include raises in each of the three years. At the conclusion of the contract, Batista would be making $314,080, The Telegram reported.

Batista was making $284,254 as of the fiscal year beginning July 1.

In 2022, many councilors enthusiastically backed Batista's hiring, voting 8 to 3 in November 2022 to give him a $275,000, two-year contract without performing a wider search for candidates.
