Worcester To Close All Athletic Fields During Weather Transition

It's not clear exactly when the fields will reopen, but the city said it will make an announcement.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester has announced that all of the city's athletic facilities will be temporarily closed.

A number of athletic fields in Worcester will close as the state transitions out of winter. The city said this is to allow the fields to dry out and undergo seasonal cleanup, ensuring they are safe and ready for sports and activities.

Multipurpose fields listed on the city's website include Beaver Book Park, Burncoat Park, Bell Hill Park, Coes Pond Parks, Cristoforo Colombo Park, Crompton Park, Farber Field, Great Brook Valley Playground, Green Hill Park, Greenwood Park, Holmes Field, Indian Hill Park, Insittute Park, Kendrick Field, Providence Street Playground, Rockwood Field and Vernon Hill Park.
