WORCESTER, MA — Worcester will change a portion of a Union Hill-area street to one-way on Thursday due to traffic near an elementary school.

The portion of South Street between Chapin and Shannon streets will be changed to one-way going eastbound Thursday due to traffic near the Union Hill school.

"This change will provide for safe and orderly access to Union Hill School and reduce disruption for residents on South Street," the city said in social media posts Tuesday.

Worcester changed a portion of nearby Harrison Street — and Pond Street in the Canal District — to one-way in December 2021.
