Worcester Has First Positive Coronavirus Case
In addition to Worcester's first new coronavirus case, officials announced more people are being tested for the virus.
WORCESTER, MA — Worcester officials confirmed the city's first presumed positive case of new coronavirus, COVID-19, on Saturday.
The Worcester case is in a person who attended the February Biogen conference in Boston. Out of the state's 123 cases, 94 are in people who had been at that conference.
Worcester officials also said that another five people are being tested for COVID-19. On Thursday, officials announced that three people were being tested who had ties to North High School and Chandler Magnet School.

Worcester schools are closed until early April due to the outbreak, and the city announced that all public libraries would close on Sunday until further notice.
Other local cases have been found in Natick, Sudbury, Wayland, and Marlborough. Seven people in Natick have tested presumptive positive, and two more people are waiting on test results. Two people total have tested positive in Worcester County.
