Worcester Library Reveals New Locally Designed Library Cards
Three new Worcester Public Library cards will begin to circulate featuring designs by a child, a teen and an adult.
WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Public Library has picked the winners in a library card design contest held this fall, and the new cards will begin to circulate this winter.
The library began accepting designs during the September National Library Card Sign-up Month. In total, 277 people submitted designs, with the winners picked by a committee including acting City Manager Eric Batista, El Salón founder Vanessa Calixto, WPL Access Service Coordinator Kate Sawisch, WPL Circulation Assistant Myla Salmela and WPL Communications Manager Linnea Sheldon.

- Ages 0 to 11, Azaliyah Ortiz
- Ages 12 to 17, Elisabet Febo
- Adult, K-Fai Steele
The finalists in each category included:
- Ages 0 to 11, Jameson Cates and Sophia Homes
- Ages 12 to 17, Claudia Kabanov and Lucia Vidal
- Adult, Abigail Hannaford-Ricardi and Elizabeth Rudt
The new designs will circulate will be available in limited quantities later this year and in 2023.
