Worcester College Honor Society Named Among Top 100 Chapters Globally
An honor society at Quinsigamond Community College recently picked up a string of international and regional honors.

WORCESTER, MA — An honor society at Quinsigamond Community College recently picked up a string of international and regional honors, including recognition that placed it among the top chapters worldwide.
QCC’s Alpha Zeta Theta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society was named a Top 100 Chapter by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, placing it in the top 10 percent of nearly 1,250 active chapters globally.
The international honor is based on equally weighted scores from PTK's Honors in Action and College Project initiatives and reflects the chapter's academic integrity, leadership and community engagement.

"I am so proud of the work our PTK officers put in this year," Program Coordinator of PTK Lizette Reid said. "They worked hard, formed strong bonds and made a huge impact on campus."
The chapter also earned designation as a REACH Rewards Chapter, which recognizes success in inviting, engaging and following up with eligible students. QCC said the chapter increased membership growth by more than 45 percent, exceeding national benchmarks for student engagement and outreach.

At the 2026 Phi Theta Kappa New England Regional Convention, QCC's chapter received the First Place Honors in Action Distinguished Theme Award for the highest-scoring project tied to the 2024-2025 Honors Study Topic, "The Power of Stories." The chapter also received Five Star Chapter designation, the highest level of achievement in PTK's Five Star Chapter Plan, along with the Second Place Distinguished Chapter Award.
QCC's chapter also earned Second Place for its Honors in Action Project, titled "Unspoken Heritage: Institutional Naming in the Absence of Indigenous Stories."
Reid received regional recognition as well, including the First Place Horizon Award for New Advisors, which honors dedication to student engagement and creating a supportive learning environment. She also received the Second Place Paragon Award for New Advisors, which recognizes contributions to member growth, campus advocacy and involvement at the local, regional and international levels.
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for students at associate degree-granting colleges. Membership is based on academic excellence and a commitment to leadership and service.
