Worcester Man Charged After Police Found Gun On His Person, Police

The 38-year-old already had multiple warrants, police said

WORCESTER, MA — A man in Worcester is facing charges after police said they found a gun on his person Tuesday evening.

Worcester detectives were on patrol when they came across Matthew Gambrel, 38, who had warrants out for his arrest. Police said that Gambrel had a gun on him when he was arrested and did not have a license to carry.

He was charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large capacity weapon with a feeding device and the warrants.
