Worcester Man Charged With Carrying Illegal Gun, Police

He first gave officers a fake name.

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man is facing charges after police said he was carrying a gun without a license.

Alex Sanchez, 24, who at first gave officers a fake name, was sitting in the passenger seat of an uninspected car that Worcester police officers pulled over at the intersection of Hollis and Gardner Streets shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday. Sanchez was carrying an unlicensed gun in his waistband, according to the Worcester Police Department.

He was charged with possession of a firearm without an LTC/FID, possession of Ammunition without an LTC/FID, possession of a Large capacity Firearm without an LTF/FID, possession of a large capacity feeding device, carrying a loaded firearm without an LTC/FID and Possession of an open container of alcohol.

The driver was also given a citation for an open container that police found in the vehicle and for operating an uninspected motor vehicle.
