WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man was indicted on a murder charge in connection with a January killing.

Ryan Wilcox, 32, was arraigned July 7 in Worcester County Superior Court. He was charged with the murder of Mitchell Burke, who was found dead in the woods off Brigham Street in Hubbardston the morning of Jan. 4.

"Wilcox was initially arraigned on January 6, 2025, in Worcester Central District Court on one count each of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, assault with a dangerous weapon, and armed assault with intent to murder and had been held without bail since his arraignment," the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office said in a media release.

Wilcox was held without bail. His next court date is Aug. 27.

Patch previously reported that Wilcox, who was Burke's former boss, told police he struck Burke several times with a bat.

Patch also previously reported Burke was killed four days before his body was found and had been left for dead after he was beaten.
