Worcester Man Sentenced For Mailing Meth Pills Hidden In Children's Toys

WORCESTER, MA— A Worcester man is facing prison time after officials said he was involved in a methamphetamine pill operation.

Tong Tran, 35, was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. He was accused of mailing multiple kilograms of methamphetamine pills concealed in the packaging for a children's toy, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Massachusetts.

In Sept. 2024, Tran shipped a package at a Worcester Post Office, and a search of the package revealed about 2.4 kilograms of orange pills containing methamphetamine, hidden in the packaging of a children's toy, according to the USAO.

Officials said a partial fingerprint on the wrapping materials inside the box belonged to Tran, and that he was also photographed shipping two other packages containing meth pills.

In Apr. 2025, during a search of his home, a pill press, binding agent, and additional equipment used to make pills, including pill dyes were located. The search also resulted in the seizure of 3.3 kilograms of methamphetamine and about $8,000 in cash.

In Mar. 2026, he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances after he was charged in Apr. 2025.
