Worcester Native Named Bishop of Norwich

A Worcester monsignor was recently appointed bishop of Norwich by Pope Francis.

WORCESTER, MA - Pope Francis appointed Monsignor Richard Reidy, a Worcester native, as bishop of Norwich, according to a news release from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Reidy, a priest of the Diocese of Worcester, currently serves as the vicar general and moderator of the curia. The Telegram & Gazette reportedthat he will be installed as bishop April 29.

Reider earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Holy Cross and a J.D. from Boston College.
