WORCESTER, MA — Worcester will institute a snow-related parking ban beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, according to the public works department.

The ban prohibits parking along major arteries and bus snow routes, and on the even sides of most city streets.

The ban comes amid a slow-moving storm that began on Thursday afternoon. Light snow will continue across the Worcester area until at least 9 p.m. on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The city could see up to 3 inches of new snow by the end of the day.
