WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man is facing charges after Massachusetts Police found the suspect's vehicle in Worcester that was involved in a robbery in Fitchburg.

On Thursday, Aug. 25, at approximately 4:05 a.m., Massachusetts State Police located an unoccupied suspect vehicle connected to an armed robbery in Fitchburg. The car was parked at 5 Lucian St. in Worcester. Police believed the suspect, who was identified as 30-year-old Conception Rodriguez of Worcester, was inside the residence. Due to the nature of the incident, the Worcester Police Department SWAT Team and a Worcester Police negotiator was notified and arrived on scene.

Officers evacuated the first and second and floor of the three decker prior to negotiating with the suspect, said police. Additional officers assisted in securing the perimeter outside of the building and the street was temporarily shut down.

It took several attempts to make contact with the residents inside the apartment, and a short time later, Rodriguez tried to leave the residence through the back door. He was apprehended by Worcester police officers without incident. Mr. Rodriguez was arrested on a warrant obtained by Fitchburg Police for Armed Robbery. He was then transported to the Fitchburg Police Department.
