WORCESTER, MA — Worcester swimmers will have an additional week to use the city’s only municipal pool before the summer season ends.

Crompton Park Pool will remain open through Saturday, Aug. 29, the city’s Parks, Recreation & Cemetery Department announced Tuesday. The pool had initially been scheduled to close Aug. 22.

The pool at 50 Canton St. is open daily from noon to 7 p.m. It includes an accessible lift and a zero-depth entry area.

Worcester’s four municipal beaches at Bell Pond, Coes Pond, Indian Lake and Shore Park will close for the season Aug. 22.

The East, Greenwood, University and Tacoma Street spray parks will remain open through Labor Day on Sept. 7. The facilities are normally open from noon to 7 p.m. daily.

The city partnered with the YMCA of Central Massachusetts to staff its pool and beaches with lifeguards for the 2026 season. Residents should swim only where lifeguards are on duty and use caution near waterfronts.
