Worcester St. Patrick's Day Parade 2019: Schedule, Route
Worcester's St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held Sunday; police warned against drinking out in public.

WORCESTER, MA — After postponing the annual St. Patrick's Day parade to March 24, Worcester is preparing for the belated celebration that will sweep the city. The parade begins at noon and the route stretches approximately 2.1 miles along Park Avenue. The parade was postponed after forecasts showed bad weather for St. Patrick's Day weekend.
The parade is jam packed with honorees receiving awards, bagpipes and bands and lots of green. The Guinness Celtic 5K road race will also be held on Sunday since it was postponed with the parade. This year's parade Grand Marshal is Officer Sean Lovely and this year's parade mayor is Elizabeth Doyle. Four residents will also be honored as community award winners.
Drivers should steer clear of the area from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Guinness race will start at 11:00 at Elm Park and will be an “out and back” loop of the parade route which takes place on Park Avenue (from Elm Street to Webster Square).
