Worcester Railers Deliver $2,500 Worth Of Food To South Worcester Neighborhood Center
The hockey team made a stop at a local neighborhood center as part of a food donation effort.
WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Railers made a stop Monday at a local neighborhood center as part of a food donation effort.
The hockey team delivered more than $2,500 worth of food to the South Worcester Neighborhood Center, with the food provided through donations and items purchased from Price Chopper Supermarkets, according to the Railers. The team also brought smoothies from Tropical Smoothie Cafe for the center’s volunteers.
The South Worcester Neighborhood Center operates a food pantry at 47 Camp St. in Worcester, with food distribution available Monday through Friday. The center’s website lists pantry hours as 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. weekdays.
The Railers HC Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2016 to support youth and families in the Greater Worcester region. The team says the foundation has donated more than $1.56 million in cash and partnered with more than 750 community organizations across Central Massachusetts.
