Worcester Schools Closed Due To Snowstorm
A messy snowstorm might dump more than a foot in the area by Tuesday morning, according to forecasts.
WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester area is under a winter storm warning until 7 a.m. Tuesday, and school in the district has been canceled for Monday, according to officials. The storm is expected to make travel extremely difficult across Massachusetts, especially because of the possibility of ice during the Monday morning commute.
"Due to the inclement weather, there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, December 2, 2019. Head Start, before and after school activities, and programs are also cancelled. The Administration Offices will be closed to the public but open to employees," the district said in a tweet Sunday evening.
The messy storm could drop more than 12 inches of snow in the area by Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. In general, areas north of the Mass Pike will get higher accumulations, according to forecasts.
