Worcester, Springfield, Boston Make Top 100 Fattest Cities List
Three Massachusetts cities made 2017 Fattest Cities in the U.S. list.

MASSACHUSETTS — Jackson, MS, Memphis, TN, and Little Rock, AR, topped a national list of 2017 Fattest Cities in America list.
The annual list, researched and released by the personal-finance website WalletHub, took an in-depth look at 2017's Fattest Cities in America. To show where obesity was most prevalent, WalletHub’s analysts compared 100 of the most populated U.S. metro areas across 17 key metrics. The data set ranges from share of obese adults to share of overweight children to projected obesity rates by 2030.
Three Massachusetts cities made the list of 100. Worcester came in at number 49, with Springfield at 56, and Boston/Cambridge just making the list at 95.

As WalletHub bluntly reports, "Americans are the fattest people in the world," with one measure showing that more than 70 percent older than 15 is either overweight or obese. The costs have upped obesity-related medical treatment to nearly $316 billion per year.
