Worcester State, Polar, Among Those Hit By Pro-Nazi Worldwide Hack Attack
Worcester State University was among hundreds hacked worldwide this week.

WORCESTER, MA — In a worldwide hack that affected hundreds of accounts, Worcester State University was the victim of Twitter hit with pro-Nazi messages.
Officials addressed the hack, sending a message to the community that the hacked Tweet was sent out from from the official university account around 3 a.m. on March 15, and resent shortly thereafter.
Both were removed before university staff had a chance to view them, but they were reportedly posted in Turkish and contained a pro-Nazi message.
"Worcester State has no tolerance for hate speech, and we were appalled at having been used in this matter," wrote Worcester State officials. "We are taking immediate steps to tighten security our of Twitter account and will be investigating the need for additional security measures. To the best of our knowledge, we had never previously experienced a Twitter hack since the account was established several years ago."
Forbes Magazine, BBC North America and Reuters were among the hundreds worldwide hit by the hack that read hashtags "NaziGermany" and "NaziHolland" and contained swastikas, reports Bloomberg.
According to the Worcester Business Journal, Worcester-based Polar Beverages had also gotten hit by the pro-Nazi hack.
