Worcester voters chose Moses Dixon for state rep. Roughly five percent turned out for the primary in Worcester.

WORCESTER, MA—Voters turned out for the Massachusetts state primary election on Thursday, Sept. 8, electing state representatives, state senators, councillors, sheriffs and other state positions.

Of the 100,511 registered voters in Worcester, 5,423 voters turned out, representing 5.4 percent of voters.

The polls were open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Republican Ballot:

State Representative, 17th Worcester District: Kate D. Campanale, 177 votes

Councillor, 7th District: Jennie L. Caissie, 652 votes

Sheriff, Worcester County: Lewis G. Evangelidis, 724 votes

State Senator, Mesfin H. Beshir, 206 votes

Democratic Ballot:

Representative in Congress, 2nd District: James P. McGovern, 3,835 votes

State Representative, 16th Worcester District: Daniel M. Donahue, 563 votes

Councillor, 7th District: Mathew CJ Vance, 2,690 votes

State Representative, 7th Worcester District: Moses Dixon, 1,173 votes; Douglas A. Belanger, 321 votes

State Senator, 1st Worcester District: Harriette L. Chandler, 2,039 votes

State Senator, 2nd Worcester District: Michael O. Moore, 1,505 votes

State Representative, 13th Worcester District: John J. Mahoney, 770 votes

State Representative, 15th Worcester District: Mary S. Keefe, 482 votes
