Worcester Weekend Forecast: Dangerous Heat Ahead
A heat advisory will go into effect in Worcester on Saturday morning as temperatures soar to near 100.
WORCESTER, MA — It's going to be very hot across central Massachusetts this weekend — maybe even dangerously so.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the weekend days starting Saturday morning. The heat index will feel like 99 degrees, the advisory says, which is hot enough to injure.
"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances," the advisory said.
Worcester's fresh water beaches and splash pads are not open for the season yet. But residents who need some cool air can head to any library on Saturday, although all branches are closed on Sundays.
