Wrentham Neighbors Fund Opens Tax Relief Applications

WRENTHAM, MA — Applications are now open for a town program that helps eligible homeowners reduce their property tax burden.

The Wrentham Neighbors Fund is accepting applications for fiscal year 2027 tax relief through Oct. 15. The program assists elderly or disabled Wrentham residents who own and occupy their homes and have limited income and assets.

Applicants must be at least 65 or receive disability benefits through a government-sponsored program such as Social Security Disability Insurance or the Department of Veterans Affairs.

General household income guidelines are less than $44,000 for one person, $60,000 for two people, $75,000 for three people and $91,000 for four people. Residents slightly above those limits are still encouraged to apply.

Applications are available at the Assessor's Office, the Wrentham Senior Center and on the town's Elderly and Disabled Tax Aid Committee webpage.

Send completed applications and supporting documents to the Wrentham Neighbors Fund, Council on Aging, 400 Taunton St., Wrentham, MA 02093.

The fund is supported entirely by voluntary donations from residents, businesses and community groups. Award amounts will depend on the available funding and number of eligible applicants.

Awards are expected to be announced by Dec. 31 and applied to property tax bills in February. Applying does not postpone tax collection, and taxes must continue to be paid on time.
