MetroWest Women's Alliance to Award Mini-Grants

The MetroWest Women's Alliance, a collaboration of the and the , is accepting applications for mini-grants until Dec. 15.

 The mini-grants are awarded bi-annually to non profit 501 ( c ) (3) organizations that host events and programs that encourage empowerment for women and girls in the MetroWest/495 Corridor.

The grants will be awarded to organizations that provide activities or events that align with the Alliance's mission to promote the well-being and empowerment of girls.   

Grants of primary interest include those events that address domestic violence prevention and economic independence for women and girls.  However, other topics such as educational opportunities for girls, social issues facing girls today, teen pregnancy, women's health issues and empowerment will be considered.

In the past, mini-grants ranging from $500-$2,000 have been awarded to such local organizations as Heal, , South Middlesex Opportunity Council and the YWCA for domestic violence related programs.  

The Alliance is aware of the impact that the economy has had on many non-profits and is proud to be able to offer these grants to ensure that many wonderful programs that provide empowering opportunities for women and girls will continue.
