2-Year-Old Killed In Drive-By Shooting: Battle Creek Police
The child was inside a home when he was struck overnight by a drive-by shooter, according to police.
BATTLE CREEK, MI — A 2-year-old boy died after being wounded overnight in a drive-by shooting in Battle Creek, according to police.
Kai Rowan Turner died of his injuries early Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
“Police, and the city as a whole, offer their deepest sympathies to Kai’s family,” the Battle Creek Police Department said in a news release. “We hope to gather the information needed to solve this violent crime that took the life of an innocent child.”

The shooting occurred 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Cliff Street, according to police, who said a person inside a dark-colored SUV fired multiple rounds into a home. Officers gave the child first aid and he was taken to a hospital, police said, adding the boy’s family was not believed to be the shooter’s intended target.
