25 Kayakers Rescued After Overturning On MI River: Sheriff
The group of kayakers, 21 children and four adults, were safely rescued from the water with no significant injuries, officials said.

OTSEGO TOWNSHIP, MI — A group of 25 kayakers were rescued after they capsized in the Kalamazoo River just outside of Otsego Township Thursday afternoon, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.
Officials said the group of kayakers, 21 children and four adults, were launched from a business along the Kalamazoo River at 3 p.m. when they "ran into some trouble" on the water.
Multiple kayakers’ boats had turned over in the water just west of Otsego and needed rescue, according to the sheriff's office.

The 25 kayakers, who were all wearing personal floatation devices, were safely recovered from the water with no significant injuries, according to the sheriff's office.
"A significant contributing factor to this successful rescue was the fact that all participants were wearing their personal floatation devices," the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
