SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — A significant weather system will bring accumulating snow and freezing rain to southeastern Michigan this week, according to the National Weather Service.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be calm and sunny across southeastern Michigan with highs reaching the upper 30s before the wintry mix moves into the region Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow showers will move into southeastern Michigan on Thursday morning as temperatures start around the freezing mark across the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow should continue falling in the Tri-cities and Thumb areas throughout the afternoon hours, while snow will shift to rain in the metro Detroit area by the early afternoon hours when temperatures quickly warm into the 40s, according to the National Weather Service.
Areas north of Interstate 69 can expect to see 3 to 5 inches of fresh snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect 1 to 3 inches of fresh snow in areas between Interstate 94 and Interstate 69 (metro Detroit area), according to the National Weather Service.
Areas south of Interstate 94 can see up to an inch of fresh snow, though those areas will likely see mostly rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters were still trying to determine exactly where the rain/snow line will cross southeastern Michigan. As of Tuesday morning, they believe it will land somewhere between Interstate 94 and Interstate 69, according to the National Weather Service.
