CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP, MI — A father and his 6-year-old son were found shot to death Wednesday inside a camper in Isabella County, according to news reports, citing police.
Investigators believe the 48-year-old man fatally shot his son and then himself with a gun at the residence on the 8000 Block East River Road in Chippewa Township, according to news reports.
Officials said the boy's mother told the sheriff's office that her child was not returned to her Monday after being with his father, according to news reports

Officials reached out to family or friends of the man and contacted a sibling, who was unable to reach her brother, according to news reports

Family members then began searching the property and decided to break a window on a camper that was near the property, according to news reports
After breaking the window, the family members saw a man dead, according to news reports
Officials then used a breaching tool to get into the camper where they found the man and child dead, according to news reports
