7-Year-Old Dies After Shooting Self With Gun: Reports
The child died several days after the shooting in Saginaw County, according to reports.
BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, MI — A 7-year-old from Saginaw County is dead after he accidentally shot himself, according to reports.
The shooting occurred after midnight Oct. 31 at an apartment complex in Bridgeport Township, WNEM reported, adding police confirmed Thursday that the child had died.
T-Keeyha Lane had been in possession of the gun used in the shooting, according to WNEM, but she did not own it legally, MLive reported. The 28-year-old lived with the child and his mother, and is charged with child abuse, according to WNEM.

Lane was released from jail Wednesday after posting $10,000 bond, MLive reported, adding that at the time of the shooting she was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for drug delivery charges.
