Charges Dropped Against Sister Of Pregnant Woman Killed In MI Woods: Report
Prosecutors dropped charges against the sister of Rebecca Park, who was found dead with her baby cut from her womb in northern Michigan.
WEXFORD COUNTY, MI — Prosecutors on Friday dropped charges against the sister of Rebecca Park, who was found dead with her baby cut from her womb in northern Michigan last November, according to a report.
Kimberly Park was charged with tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer and filing a false report in connection to the case.
A judge dismissed those charges without prejudice, meaning prosecutors could refile charges later, UpNorthLive reports.

Prosecutors only cited the investigation as reasons to drop the charges.
On Nov. 3, prosecutors said Rebecca's biological mother Cortney Bartholomew and her husband, Bradly, lured Rebecca, who was 38 weeks pregnant, to their Wexford County home.

The couple then forced Rebecca into a vehicle, which took her into a nearby wooded area where the couple stabbed Rebecca and forced her to lie on the ground while they cut out her baby, resulting in the death of both, prosecutors said.
The couple left Rebecca's body in the woods and took the baby back to their home, where they tried performing CPR on the baby before placing the infant into a garbage bag, which they then put into a lunch cooler and threw in the trash, prosecutors said.
Cortney Bartholomew and Bradly Bartholomew were each charged with multiple felonies in the killing, including first-degree murder, felony murder, torture and conspiracy to commit torture. Each of those charges carries up to life in prison. Other charges include assault on a pregnant person causing miscarriage or stillbirth, unlawful imprisonment and removal of a dead body.
A judge placed the couple's case on hold pending a competency evaluation.
Rebecca's fiancé, 43-year-old Richard Lee Falor, was also arrested in connection with the case but was later released from jail.
