GRANDVILLE, MI — A west Michigan bakery is serving up cookies featuring Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump through Election Day.

Steenstra’s Royal Dutch Bakery, located in Grandville, says the fun tradition brings the community together and helps remind us about our freedoms and the importance of voting.

"While politics can be a touchy subject, we want to keep this light-hearted, fun and respectful," the bakery said in a Facebook post. "If you would like to support a specific candidate, that is completely okay, but we will not, and have not, supported a specific candidate as a business. We believe in the freedoms that we have in America and want to make this election season fun and delicious, too."

The bakery's owner, Delynn Steenstra told MLive they started the tradition a few elections back, and now, people come asking for them weeks ahead of time.

"We’ve been making them as fast as they've been selling the past couple of days," Steenstra told the outlet. "It brings people to thinking that things are more fun, to take some of the stress out of it. 95 percent of people have fun with it. Customers feel what people need is something like this."

Steenstra said the sugar cookies are made with a family recipe that's been passed down for generations.
