MI High School Student Brings Loaded Gun To School: Sheriff
School officials found the gun in the student's backpack and "promptly determined it contained a loaded handgun," officials said.
HOLT, MI — A Lansing area high school student was arrested Tuesday after police said the teen brought a loaded gun to the school, according to the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.
Holt High School officials found the gun in the student's backpack and "promptly determined it contained a loaded handgun," officials said. It was not known how officials found the gun.
The 16-year-old student was placed at the Ingham County Youth Home, officials said.

The student's name was not released and detectives were working to determine if any threats were made, officials said.
An investigative report will be turned over to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office for possible criminal charges.
