A Gaylord man was arrested Saturday after a child was injured when he threw a rock at a truck with his ex-girlfriend inside, police said.

OTSEGO COUNTY, MI — A Gaylord man was arrested Saturday after a child was injured when he threw a rock that bounced off a truck with his ex-girlfriend inside, Michigan State Police said.

Brandon Allen Clifton, 31, was charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of malicious destruction of personal property over $1,000 but less than $20,000 and littering-object in vehicle path, officials said. He was placed in the Otsego County Jail with a $2,000 cash bond.

State troopers said Clifton was driving a jeep on Plywood Road Saturday evening when he saw a truck with his ex-girlfriend inside driving in the opposite direction. Clifton turned around and began following the truck, troopers said.
