Thanedar Wins Democratic Nomination For MI U.S. House District 13: AP
The district, which leans heavily Democratic, includes most of Detroit and Wayne, as some downriver communities.

MICHIGAN — Democrat incumbent Rep. Shri Thanedar won a contested primary matchup in Tuesday's elections for Michigan's 13th Congressional District, setting up a matchup with Republican Martell Bivings in November.
The Associated Press called the race 2:12 a.m. when Thanedar secured more than 50 percent of the vote. Bivings ran unopposed for the Republican nomination.
The district, which leans heavily Democratic, includes most of Detroit and Wayne, as some downriver communities.

Thanedar won the seat in 2022 after beating out a crowded field of other Democratic candidates and Republican challenger Martell Bivings.
