Officials said the dog fell into the hole while on a walk with her owner.

BERRIEN COUNTY, MI — Officials rescued an 11-year-old dog from a gas line hole in southwest Michigan earlier this month, according to Michigan State Police.
Officials said Sophie was enjoying an evening walk with her owner on Orchard Drive in Watervliet Township on Oct. 10 at 10 p.m. when she fell into the hole, which is estimated to be five or six feet deep.
