MICHIGAN — Former First Lady Michelle Obama is coming to Michigan next weekend to campaign for Kamala Harris, according to campaign officials.

That date is important because it's the first day for early statewide in-person voting across Michigan.

Obama's husband, former President Barack Obama will be in Detroit next Tuesday, Oct. 22, to urge people to vote for Harris, according to campaign officials.

It was not immediately clear where Obama will be in Detroit.

Michelle Obama, whom many consider to be as or more popular than her husband in politics, spoke in support for Harris at the Democratic National Convection in August.

"My girl, Kamala Harris, is more than ready for this moment," Obama told the United Center crowd. "She is one of the most qualified people ever to seek the office of the presidency, and she is one of the most dignified."
