Strong Thunderstorms Possible Tuesday: MI Weather

The storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours and strong wind gusts reaching up to 45 miles per hour.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Strong thunderstorms are expected across southeastern Michigan Tuesday amid high heat and humidity, according to the National Weather Service.

The showers and storms should move into the southeastern Michigan region sometime during the late morning hours and the afternoon hours Tuesday when high temperatures reach the mid 80s, according to the weather service.

Forecasters do not expect the storms to be severe, but warned they could produce heavy downpours and strong wind gusts reaching up to 45 miles per hour.

Tuesday night should be clear into Wednesday afternoon when highs will reach 90 degrees, sparking chances for more showers and storms across the southeastern Michigan region, according to the weather service.

Highs will then stick in the upper 80s through Saturday with storm chances each day of the week before drier weather moves into southeastern Michigan on Sunday, according to the weather service.
