Toothless Man Tries to Eat Girlfriend’s Face, Leaves Her Bloody: Police
A Michigan man with no teeth followed through after threatening his girlfriend he would "eat her face off," police said.

BAY CITY, MI — A Michigan man threatened to eat his girlfriend’s face off and, despite having no teeth, bit her nose until it bled earlier this summer during a weekend party at a hotel, according to details emerging in the bizarre case unfolding in Bay County Circuit Court. The bloodied woman ran from the hotel room the couple booked to “drink and party" and into the lobby, where a desk clerk called 911, Michigan State Police said.
Darryl J. Socia, 40, now faces a third-offense domestic violence charge, a felony that could send him to prison for five years. The incident occurred in May, but authorities didn’t catch up with Socia until about a month later because he checked himself into a 21-day alcohol rehabilitation facility, MLive.com reported.
The couple had been together off and on for about 11 years and booked the hotel room to keep their relationship a secret from their disapproving parents, according to the report. (Click here to find your local Michigan Patch. Also, click here to get the free Patch iPhone app.)

The woman, whom the hotel clerk described as “a bloody mess” when she ran into the lobby with Socia on her heels, told a Michigan trooper that her boyfriend “flipped a switch and freaked out,” then threw her on the bed and said he was “going to eat her face off,” according to court records.
Socia’s girlfriend told police he has tried to bite her face in a hotel room before, the records show. Police couldn’t find him the night they were called to the AmericInn Hotel in Monitor Township because his mother showed up and drove him away, according to court records. When investigators did interview Socia, he said his girlfriend had been the aggressor and her nose was bloodied when he accidentally hit her, according to court documents.

Socia, who is free on $10,000 cash/surety bond, is next due in court on Aug. 29. As a condition of bail, he was ordered to stay away from the victim and abstain from alcohol.
