Trump Shooter Researched Ethan Crumbley Before Shooting: Report

The gunman had an arrest photo of Ethan Crumbley on his primary cellphone, according to a CNN report.

BUTLER COUNTY, PA — A gunman who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump last week in Pennsylvania researched Oxford school shooter Ethan Crumbley and his parents, a U.S. official told CNN.

In the months and days leading up to the shooting, investigators found the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, had an arrest photo of Ethan Crumbley on his primary cellphone, and information on his parents, according to the report.

Ethan Crumbley was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing four students and wounding seven other people at Oxford High School in November 2021. His parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, were found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting.

Trump was shot in the ear, while a rally attendee was killed and two others were wounded in the shooting, according to police.
