Known for her service with the Clayton Fire Department, love of animals, and ties to Anderson-Marry Funeral Home and Lenawee Humane Society, she leaves a large family and many local connections. 
• Cover crop project bridges farming and research to bolster soil, protect water (umich.edu) — Adrian farmer David Halsey is helping lead a major Great Lakes cover crop research project by turning his local fields into living laboratories. The effort, rooted in University of Michigan research, now involves hundreds of farmers across six states, testing mixes like tillage radish and cereal rye to protect soil, keep fertilizer out of waterways, and strengthen long‑term farm sustainability.
• Tammy Jo Colburn (wlen.com) — Adrian is mourning longtime resident Tammy Jo Colburn, 65, whose funeral will be held Friday, May 15, at Purse Funeral Home on Adrian Highway, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Remembered for her deep faith, love for family, and compassion for animals, she leaves behind her husband Marlin, children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and extended family who cherished her warm, spirited presence.
