• Van Buren Township board appoints Jeffrey Jahr to fill empty trustee seat (bellevilleareaindependent.com) — Van Buren Township has appointed longtime resident Jeffrey Jahr to fill a vacant trustee seat and serve as liaison to the Planning Commission, shaping future development decisions affecting Belleville-area residents. The board also backed a University of Michigan sustainability study, approved several key reappointments, sold township property to Van Buren Public Schools, addressed late-night traffic concerns, and donated land for widening Belleville Road with new lanes and a traffic light.
