1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Fiery Oakland County Crash: Police

BERKLEY, MI — One person was killed and another person was injured in a fiery Berkley crash on Monday, according to police.

The crash happened at 10:14 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and Henley Street in Berkley, according to police.

Officers found a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer that had struck a tree and caught fire, according to police, adding there were two people inside the SUV.

A 52-year-old Warren resident, who was the front-seat passenger, was killed in the crash, according to police.

The driver, a 40-year-old Troy resident, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to police.

Investigators believe speed, alcohol and/or controlled substances played a role in the crash.

Police were still working to positively identify the victims.

Police asked neighbors to check their cameras and see if they have footage of the SUV in the area. Anyone who has video should contact police here.
