In Loving Memory of Kenneth Callahan

Loving husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center following a brief illness, age 72 years.  Ken was born on January 7, 1941 to the late George and Helen Callahan.  He married Joyce Ford on June 13, 1981 in Saginaw.  She survives him.  Ken worked for Ford Motor Credit for 25 years until his retirement.  He was a member of Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, Gideons International, a Stephens Minister, and he taught Sunday school.  Ken loved his grandchildren.  He liked to bake, and woodworking was his hobby.  He made many wood treasures for his family.  Ken also loved taking daily walks with the family schnauzer, Katy.

Surviving besides his bride Joyce are 3 sons and a daughter: Timothy (Gwen) Callahan of Chesterfield Twp., Catherine (Bill) Young of Royal Oak, Rick (Shannon) Callahan of Brownstown Twp., and David (Melissa) Callahan of Frankenmuth; 6 grandchildren: Nicholas, Joshua, Tyler, Brandon, Audrey, and Kelsey; a brother, Donald Callahan of Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

 

Ken was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Callahan and a sister, Barbara Curry.

 

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church.  Rev. David Eardley will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Garden.  Ken’s family will receive visitors at the Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Frankenmuth United Methodist Church or Gideons International.  Please sign our guest book or share an online condolence with the family at www.cederbergfh.com
